Mrs. Octavia Coleman

Octavia Coleman is a proud Tampa native and the current Sponsor of the Golden Dolls Dance Team at George S. Middleton High School. A member of the school's first graduating class in 2004, Ms. Coleman has deep ties to Middleton's history and culture. During her time at Middleton, she co-captained the Golden Dolls Dance Team during its inaugural season (2002-2003), coinciding with the debut of the Tiger Marching Band. She continued to dance with the team through the 2003-2004 season.

Ms. Coleman earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Cellular Biology from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in 2010. She returned to Middleton as an educator in 2012, joining both the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and Science departments. Since the 2016-2017 school year, she has served as the ESE Department Head while continuing to teach Biology and Environmental Science.

With a lifelong passion for dance, Ms. Coleman finds immense joy in sharing this love with current and future Golden Dolls. In addition to her work as a dance sponsor and educator, she is an accomplished seamstress and crafter. Her skills in sewing and crafting allow her to create custom costumes and accessories for both the Golden Dolls and the Tiger Marching Band, combining her creativity and dedication to the school community.
